Reconstructed or Impregnated Turquoise
Reconstructed or impregnated turquoise is an imitation or simulant of natural turquoise of varying qualities and differs markedly from synthetic turquoise.  Reconstructed turquoise probably has several recipes, the basic recipe which calls for pulverizing natural turquoise of varying qualities and mixing it with dyed acrylic plastic as a binding agent.  The material is then submitted to extreme pressure to produce a homogenous consistently colored look to the end product.  Designers like it because it is easily matched in color and its much cheaper than the quality it attempts to represent.
